Introduction to the Role: As a Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our data-driven journey, responsible for designing and implementing the infrastructure that powers our business intelligence platform. You’ll work closely with BI analysts and stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration, quality, and accessibility, ultimately enabling informed decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust data pipelines to seamlessly extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our BI platform & data lake.
  • Collaborate with BI analysts to define data models and schemas that optimize reporting and analytical processes.
  • Architect, build, and maintain a scalable data warehouse or data lake to power our business intelligence initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes ensuring data quality, integration, and timeliness in line with BI requirements.
  • Create and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data security, integrity, and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring data consistency and accessibility for the BI team.
  • Monitor data pipeline performance and infrastructure health, implementing optimizations as needed.
  • Utilize DOM manipulation, JavaScript, and CSS selectors for targeted data collection from web-based sources when necessary.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in data engineering roles.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in SQL and database design (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, cloud-based data solutions).
  • Strong ETL skills using tools like Python.
  • Familiarity with BI concepts and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of data modeling principles (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas).
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with BI analysts and developers.
  • Cloud experience (AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Experience with AWS Redshift & Apache Airflow
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with BI analysts and developers.
